Duties and Responsibilities
Acts as the 24/7 focal point for all security coordination and communications as directed by the manager, Country
Security Specialist (CSS), and/or Security Focal Points (SFPs).
Operating as the 24/7 single point of contact for triaging all emergencies and networking to the appropriate resource while maintaining an electronic log of all incidents
Operating all emergency communications equipment including UHF/VHF/HF radios, satellite phones, landlines, vehicle tracking systems, and cell phones.
Oversees and monitors the CCTV system for the client.
Monitoring local security developments through social media and TV news may have safety implications for staff and travelers and provides notification to the CSS/SFP(s).
Tracks all the vehicle’s movements using the Track 24 system and ensures communication checks are carried out according to laid down SOPs
Conducting daily checks to ensure that all security monitoring, tracking, and operating systems are functional and report any faults to the management.
Provides initial incident management support to any vehicle movements via dispatching Quick Response vehicles and personnel as directed by the Security team.
Ensures all communication devices are always monitored including VHF Radio, Landline phones, mobile phones, satellite phones, e-mail, and all messaging platforms, and ensure any faults are reported in a timely manner to the contract manager.
Conducts accountability checks for all staff in accordance with the stipulated SOPs and when directed by the contract manager.
Maintains communications details for emergency responders (Police, Fire, etc.) in support of incident management procedures.
Minimum Requirements and Competencies
Must have a University degree in Information Technology, Security Management, or Business-related field.
Must have at least three years of experience with Excellent communication skills with a fluent grasp of verbal and written English (KCSE Grade B+ and above). An additional grasp of Swahili (KCSE Grade B and above) will be an added advantage.
Can interact with all levels of management and attention to detail
Knowledge of basic safety and accident prevention methods.
Ability to react quickly and calmly in emergency situations and to follow a predetermined course of action.
