Cardi B drops new single Hot S*** featuring Kanye West and Lil Durk:
While anticipation for Cardi B’s second studio album continues to grow, the New York city rapper released her first solo single in over a year.
The pulsating and provocative Hot S*** — featuring Kanye West and Lil Durk — officially dropped just after midnight on Friday.
This is the Cardi’s first new song since Up debuted at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in February 2021. It would eventually hit the number one spot on the chart after her riveting performance at the 63rd Grammy Awards five weeks later.
In full-on Cardi tradition, the hip hop superstar hit hard on the lyrical front, to match the driving force of the song.
Lead by a constant bass drum, the Bodak Yellow star jumped right in for verse one with hard-hitting raps.
Nah, this that Hot S* – Jimmy Snuka off the top rope – Superfly s* (Fly) – Might get in the tub – with all my ice on some Pac s* (Hot) – Either way you slice it bottom Line, I’m the top b**,’ she began.
Continuing on with her self congratulatory tone, she added: ‘New Chanel, I rock It – twist and it ain’t even out yet – All this jewelry at the grocery Store – I’m obnoxious.’
She also highlighted her accumulating wealth by spitting out lines like, ‘Bought a home and closing on another – I know I’m blessed – Everybody wanna be gang – Ain’t no spots left – Bad b**ch contest – Thеre wouldn’t be a contest.’
The song also marks the second time Ye has collaborated with Lil Durk on a song. The Chicago natives previously worked together on the song Jonah that made it on to West’s studio album, Dona (2020).
Leading up to the release, Cardi (born Belcalis Almánzar) had been in promo mode, teasing a 15 second snippet fro. the track while sipping champagne on a New York City rooftop dressed only in a Disco Daddy Studio bathrobe and towel.
And 15 seconds was all the Bronx, New York native needed to start creating TikTok dance/lip-sync videos as she remarked: ‘It’s starting already!
The Grammy Winner also shared a celebrity retouching secret by posting a corset-clad poolside snap, which showed her tattooed thighs both with a filter and without a filter.
In the non-filtered version of the photo, the Bronx-born 29-year-old’s left thigh showed tiny ripples of cellulite that most average women have, and the filtered version smoothed her thigh out.
‘Filter on the thighs. No filter on thighs,’ Cardi — who boasts 230.8M social media followers — tweeted on Thursday.
Also on Thursday, Cardi also took to her Instagram Stories and shared a photo of her three-year-old daughter Kulture and nine-month-old son Wave that she shares with her husband Offset.
‘I can tell they [are] going to give me hell,’ she wrote across the bottom of the image that was taken in her living room.
This week Cardi made some of her personal business public when she announced that she wants a tummy tuck.
‘This stomach, it’s giving tummy tuck. Like, it’s not bad, but I just don’t like this extra little skin,’ she admitted on her Instagram Stories.
‘I am a little heavier than usual, but I don’t like it, I want to get rid of it. Like, I think [my son] Wavey, like, did me wrong.’
‘I cannot wait to put out this song and do more things so I can get the f*** out and do my fing surgery. I’m over it. Me and surgery goes together bad. Real bad. We go together real bad, b*.’ she explained.
Ironically, the former stripper — who underwent her first breast augmentation at age 18 and her first rear end enhancement at age 20 — was sipping on a large coffee drink topped with whipped cream as she complained about her waist line.
Next up on the performance front: Cardi is set to hot the stage this Sunday at Pennsylvania’s Wind Creek Event Center in Bethlehem.
The Bet It hitmaker will then fly across the pond to England to headline Gopuff Delivers Wireless 2022 festivals happening July 8 at London’s Finsbury Park and July 9 at Birmingham’s The Nec.
