The DCI has cautioned Witeithie residents to be wary of a roaming cackle of hyenas that is already causing deadly attacks on the residents.

Earlier this morning, a 29-year old man was mauled to death by about 20 hyenas within the Kamuthi area while on his way home from the Komu quarry.

His counterpart narrowly escaped by the skin of his teeth.

A multi-agency team of security personnel drawn from the National Police Service, Kenya Wildlife Service and other local law enforcement agencies has already been dispatched to handle the dangerous predators and prevent further attacks on people, we urge locals to remain cautious.

This is after a 29-year-old man was mauled to death by the cackle of about 20 hyenas within Kamuthi area on his way home from Komu quarry.
