Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda and indeed the rest of East Africa has been grappling with a sharp increase in COVID-19 cases for the last couple of weeks especially following the discovery of the rapidly spreading Omicron COVID-19 variant.
The variant has been touted to have a high spread rate and it is partly because of this reason that the government of Rwanda under president Paul Kagame has taken serious steps to try and reverse the situation.
The government has reintroduced the 10pm to 4am curfew in Rwanda that had been lifted. Besides that, the government has also shut down all night clubs and restricted public gatherings in an effort to curb the spread.
The move has left many kenyans reacting with some speculating that president Uhuru Kenyatta may borrow from the same leaf and introduce tough COVID-19 measures in Kenya.
Mkenya: Kenyans are still boarding matatus bila masks politicians and rallies don’t care anything. We are headed there again.
Cleophas: Fruits of compliance. Am watching Europeans countries, some of the most vaccinated countries.
Ibrahim: Even if you close worship places it is here to stay. Tafteni mbinu ingine.
John: Let’s do the same shit to see if it can bring new results.
