Kabete residents woke up to an ugly scene after a policeman shot 6 dead people aimlessly as others sustained serious injuries.
Interior security Cabinet secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i confirming the incident regretted that the constable’s action might have been triggered by a domestic conflict.
A policeman at the station who spoke to People Daily on condition of anonymity said there were issues affecting their colleague for several months, but the station leadership should have detected and acted after the IPOA report.
It was not clear whether the officer was acting in response to a provocation or whether the attack had been premeditated.
The fact that they had kept an IPOA report against the officer without taking action greatly angered the residents of the area.
