Why CS Fred Matiang’i Silently Left The Country

The Cabinet Secretary of the Ministry of Interior Dr Fred Matiang’i has been a very busy government official especially since President Uhuru Kenyatta began his second term in office. Many have speculated that some roles that were designed for DP Ruto were assigned to him.

The no-nonsense CS silently left the country days ago for the United Kingdom where he met with United Kingdom Security and Boarders Minister Damian Hinds. The two leaders discussed matters to do with fighting global terrorism, enhancing regional security, and also how to fight violent extremism and organized crime.

The news was confirmed by Manoah Esipisu who is the Kenyan Ambassador to the United Kingdom. He said the main aim of the two nations is to increase diplomatic relations on matters of security.

Kenya is also pursuing a case where a Kenyan lady was killed by a British soldier years ago. Plans are underway for the suspect to be flown back to the country to face murder charges.

This might be other discussions that the Cabinet Secretary discussed in the United Kingdom. The unfortunate incident took place in Nanyuki where Kenyan soldiers always train together with those of the British.
