Another Popular Member Of Parliament Has Been Arrested On Thursday Evening

Over the last few months, politicians and leaders have faced the rough side of the law with several leaders spending time in police cells after they were found on the wrong side of the law.

Earlier today, Shinyalu MP Justus Kizito was arrested by DCI officers in Kakamega. The vocal legislator is among a host of candidates who have declared interest to succeed Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya in 2022.

Opranya is serving his second and final term as governor. Kizito, who has served as MP for three terms recently declared himself as the best man to succeed Oparanya and take Kakamega forward.

Others who have registered their interest in taking over from Oparanya include Senator Cleophas Malala, Lugari MP Ayub Savula, and Prof Philip Kutima.

It’s still unclear why Kizito was arrested but initial reports have revealed that he was arrested over alleged destruction of property at the Ileo area in Kakamega.
