Chief Justice Martha Koome has taken on Deputy President William Ruto and allies over their engagement in the election preparedness as the Orange Democratic Movement Party swear to defend their 2022 win.
According to Martha Koome, she has informed that she is not going to bore down to the pressure by the United Democratic Alliance Party that she should keep off the National Multi-Sectoral Consultative Forum on election preparedness stating that this was not the first time the Judiciary has been engaged in election preparedness.
“The National Multi-Sectoral Consultative Forum on election preparedness is a high-level time-bound body comprising all the heads of ministries, agencies, and departments responsible for various components in the election cycle…it is not a new platform,” Chief Justice Martha Koome has said.
The ODM Party has too informed that they will not sit down and wait for the UDA party led by Deputy President William Ruto to take control of the electoral commission stating that they are very ready to defend their victory come the year 2022.
Suna East MP Junet Mohammed has said that “We want to remind Chebukati that we have not forgotten what happened in 2017. If they have plans to repeat what happened in 2017 then he would see the true colors of ODM. He should not provoke us.”
Adding, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna has too warned then UDA led by DP Ruto to keep off the team busy preparing for elections advising the IEBC chairman not to give in to their demands.
