After it was revealed that police had decided to move three re-captured convicted terrorists back to the city from Kitui County using a chopper, many Kenyans took to social media and expressed mixed reactions, with some saying the terrorists were enjoying a ride they did not deserve.

However, it seems the chopper ride was not friendly and sweet for them to enjoy.

The three landed in Kamiti Prison under very tight security, facilitated by DCI’s ATPU unit.

Based on viral videos, the three were blindfolded before they were put into the chopper. They arrived in Kamiti Prison with their eyes closed using pieces of clothes.

Their hands had also been handcuffed from their back, painting a picture of “the chopper ride was not enjoyable” for them, and of course, it can never be for terrorists in many countries.

According to Nation, the three landed at Kamiti Maximum Prison in the afternoon where Interior CS Fred Matiang’i and other officials receive them.

DCI had earlier reported that the three were arrested by detectives while in Mwingi East. It is believed they were heading to Tana River County, where they were hoping to find their way to Somalia, where Al-Shabaab is based.

The terrorists were identified as Musharaf Abdallah Akhulunga alias Shukri, Mohamed Ali Abikar and Joseph Juma Odhiambo alias Yusuf. They were all serving different terrorist jail sentences
