Former prime minister Hon Raila Odinga has been dealt a major setback after another top official from his Orange democratic movement (ODM) party decamped to join Ruto’s united democratic alliance (UDA) camp.
Senatorial aspirant Hamisi Mwaguya of the coast today made a bold move by joining the hustler’s movement. He argued that deputy President William Ruto’s agenda ahead of the elections coincide well with the problems that are facing the people of Kenya. Moreover, he expressed his confidence in Ruto’s Presidency by acknowledging that the future is yellow. Having been a diehard supporter of Jakom, Mwaguya’ s defection to UDA comes as a major blow on the ODM brigades. Raila is currently facing a series of blows. This is evidenced by the fact that despite being on a three-day tour of the coastal region, his key allies in the region (Governor Joho, Amason Kingi and Salim Mvurya) avoided his trip.
However, Raila seems to be losing at a higher rate in this game of wits. This is because after the Mombasa county governor Hon. Hassan Joho snubbed Raila’s meeting, his brother joined the hustlers camp in a bid to assist Ruto to actualize his presidential bid. The political heat is intensifying at a faster rate and it is only the politician who embraces the smartest tricks and techniques is going to win. The Independent Electoral And Boundaries Commission is set to conduct general elections in less than one year hence the reason why politicians are running up and down in a bid to win as many hearts of voters as possible.
In addition to that, politicians are currently giving all sorts of promises under the sun to unsuspecting Kenyans. It is hoped that voters are enlightened and won’t make the mistake of electing unworthy leaders who are only power hungry.
