Mike Mbuvi Gideon Kioko Sonko traversed the Eastlands of Nairobi as a colossus, king, and strongman, in the mid-2010s, before his 40th birthday. Eastlands is a collection of colonial settlements and their post-independence departments, among other things. Eastlands once marked the arrival of the Black African elite.
However, the nobleman moved to Europe, only to relocate to Europe. When left to its own devices, the Eastlands side sprang up urban ghetto. Recent attempts to relocate to cities have led to the construction of high-rise buildings that were depressed and dark.
Mike Sonko’s Early Life Marred with Problems
King of Nairobi Matatu Subculture
When everyone else in Nairobi and Kenya heard of him in 2010, Mbuvi, 35, was already the undisputed king of Nairobi’s matatu culture. He was carrying the swankiest squirrels, from the 1990s to the 2000s and more recently, the chodas.
All of these vehicles used Route 58, which runs between downtown Nairobi and the Buru Buru shopping mall, which is a crowded place with restaurants, hypermarkets, and discos.
The rule of thumb is that when a person gets really hot, they get better, so Mbuvi went all out, put big TVs in front of his 32-seat tatus, and gave them names like Brown Sugar, Convict, Ferrari, Lakers, and Ruff Cuts. Passengers can now watch music videos while listening to music. Mbuvi even added a two-story bus to his fleet, giving Buru Buru residents a clear view as they traveled through the city.
Sonko in High-Security Jail
Mbuvi, who was born in Mombasa and grew up in Kwale, has spent most of his life in two coastal towns. Mbuvi’s father was in charge of a real estate company, and young Mbuvi was also involved. On the other hand, Mbuvi’s mobility and performance were very slow.
Mbuvi was arrested and charged with assault in 1995, at the age of 20, and already making a small income. Mbuvi was charged with impersonation the following year during a land deal. In both cases, he was released on bail.
Mbuvi Shimo La Tewa Maximum Prison
On March 12, 1998, Mbuvi was transferred to Shimo La Tewa Maximum Security Prison with P / No. inmate. SHO / 477/1998. After a month in prison, he pretended to be ill and was admitted to Coast General Hospital in Mombasa, where he disappeared on April 16, 1998, and reappeared in Buru Buru. Mbuvi apologized for his absence from prison by saying he needed to attend the funeral of his late mother, Saumu Mukami, who remembered him when he was arrested. In fact, all he needed was a fresh start.
Mbuvi arrived in Buru with a commotion, speaking Swahili in a straight line along the coast. Mbuvi swindled money with his wife Primrose and opened a hairdressing salon, a barbershop, a video library, a cybercafé, a car park, and a clothing store. Mbuvi worked in the shadows as a refugee. Primrose was in charge, and businesses flourished. After opening a popular nightclub, the couple entered the matatus business.
Mbuvi initially could not afford the factories. So he settled on a few battled matatus, which he sent to Dandora, a densely populated area with a large garbage dump in Nairobi, Eastlands.
Mbuvi gained a better understanding of the business and the environment while working on these routes back to Eastlands. Mbuvi got into trouble with the law and this time, at the age of 25, in the year 2000, another property agreement went ahead.
Kamiti Central Security Prison
Wardens linked the dots back to Mbuvi’s escape from Shimo La Tewa prison in 1998 when he was detained at Nairobi Area Remand Prison awaiting trial. Mbuvi was taken to Kamiti Maximum Security Prison before he could see what had happened. He soon returned to Shimo La Tewa to serve his remaining 12-month sentence.
He applied for a review of his sentence after only nine months. Mbuvi said he had epilepsy and was HIV-positive, and had chronic tuberculosis and peptic ulcers, in his affidavit. She was released on the basis of her critical health condition and good behavior.
Primrose had grown their businesses in Buru. Now it was time to enter the top tier of the matatu business, with enough money. Mbuvi and Primrose have made the Buru route their main attraction, accumulating a group of Nairobi’s noisy and largest hurricanes and thus dominating the route. Money started coming in with a bucket.
Sonko Accused of Witchcraft
Mbuvi found the moniker “Sonko” at this point in his life, which is Sheng’s “boss” or “rich.” Kabumba, the word Sheng means witchcraft, was another Monvi moniker, never to be mentioned aloud. Mbuvi’s rise in weather caused some who suspected him to be a witch.
These rumors were rooted in part because he was born and raised on the beach, and they affected the popular belief that the Indian Ocean is home to a powerful form of witchcraft. Mbuvi did nothing to help by donating gold rings with strange-looking images on all of his fingers, striking bling that is thought to be a voodoo powerhouse.
